    The Working Party Separation Science of the Division of Analytical Chemistry of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) supports young scientists, who will actively participate (with an oral or a poster presentation) in 55th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques (HPLC 2026) in Indianapolis. Therefore, a limited number of €500,- travel grants is available.

    Young scientists (especially PhD students) can apply for a travel grant until April 20, 2026. Please send your application to the Working Party Separation Science, Dr. Martin Vogel (martin.vogel@uni-muenster.de), in electronic form. The application needs to contain: signed application form (as pdf file), a copy of your abstract, a confirmation of receipt and/or acceptance for your abstract from HPLC 2026’s organizers.

  • The Chinese American Chromatography Association (CACA) invites applications for the Dr. Andrew Alpert Memorial Award for Student Excellence ($1000) sponsored by PolyLC in memory of Dr. Alpert for his contributions to separation science.  Travel Grants (each $500) will be presented to the two runners-upThe awards recognize research excellence in separation science and will be presented at the CACA dinner event during HPLC 2026. The winners must attend HPLC 2026 to receive the awards.

    Eligibility:

    The Dr. Andrew Alpert Memorial Award for Student Excellence and Travel Grants are open to all graduate students in separation science attending HPLC 2026.

    Evaluation:

    The CACA Awards Committee will evaluate application packages based on originality and quality of research, publication records, scientific leadership, and community service. 

    Application package:

    An application package MUST consist of the following items,

    1. A cover letter summarizing the applicant’s contributions to the field of separation science.
    2. A resume of academic credentials, work experience, and a publication list.
    3. In the cover letter, please include two references (email and phone) from mentors, supervisors, colleagues, or others. References will be contacted if verification of credentials is needed.
    4. A headshot photo (high-resolution jpg file preferred for publicity).

    The candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by their mentors or separation-science experts. The application deadline for the CACA awards is 4/15/2026. The CACA Awards Committee will select and notify the awardees by 4/30/2026.
